Who is davesdrivers ?

Main person behind davesdrivers.com is myself Davey6 better known in the real world as David Dearing.

Daves Drivers evolved from other help sites that  I was  working with  but as they closed down one by one or changed over to pay sites I could see the need to bring the world a basic free device driver site.

In January 2007 together with the help of Biggles77  I set about making Daves Drivers, the first set of pages were thrown together in a few short hours and were ultra basic

The first two years of running this site was a bit of a surprise to me, it was accepted very well by its user's, Within the first 6 months I had to change the hosting package and pages just to keep up with the traffic, Things continued like this for the next 10 months and soon reached the limit my host at the time would allow.

The turning point for Daves Drivers was when the forum software was hacked and part deleted I had a choice of shutting  down or move forward, I decided to  move forward,  Changed host,  bring the site more up to date with better pages and new improved forum software.

There have been many changes to the pages and layout of the site, The last taking place on the 30 august 2009 when I changed the site over to a dedicated server with dedicated IP address,  updated the pages again  with flash logos all these changes  must  seem Quite confusing for those that have watched the site grow over the years

The site still remains my hobby even if it now takes all my free time  and as always I remain grateful to those people that help me run it.

The site is now attracting interest from third party's but I  built this site with the intention of keeping it free , This view has not changed, the site will continue to be funded by myself and free for all its user's.

I would like to thank My team that help  bring you davedrivers with out your input the site would not be the same.
