ok i added this steam room to allow me to say this.
Orange broadband are the biggest waste of good money i have ever come across.
in the last five months i have had to suffer disconnections and down time, uselss / rude support thats when you can get hold of any sort of support.
let me say this. orange blamed the following.
line fault , spyware , virus, windows vista , ie7, modem fault , windows error
this was all a load of crap. the fault was they can't run the llu system simple,
don't ask them to explan pocket loss, as they put the phone down on you, tell them your router is reporting ppp error they put the phone down.
if this post stops just one person from joining that bunch of jokers its a job well done.
and just on the off chance that orange read this.
all my problems have now gone since i switched service so the fault on my computer / line was orange :gun:
Thanks for that info Dave. You can rest assured that I shall never sign up with Lemon, sorry Orange as like the lemon it will probably leave a sour taste in my mouth as well.
net is just a little faster on be* broadband

dammit Davey until I saw this I was pleased with my 1283k download speed
thats about the best they offer around here but thats quite a bit faster than my old connection which was only double the speed of dial up. ZZZZZZZZZZ
yeah not bad is it
my up speed is almost as fast as your down, i need that speed when sending files to and from this site.
mind you after orange a 512kb line would have been better
times i tried to get online to see ppp server down listed. phone the support lines ha! speak to someone that knows less then you do, when you point out they are wrong they put the phone down wonderful. old davey did loose his temper a few times on the phone to orange support.
i would not mind but when it was freeserve , wanadoo i never never had a problem orange take over and screw the whole system up then
blame you and your computer.
I am still looking for faster

be* broadband are now talking about a 48meg download speed, now that i would go for on a business optic line.
the orange sounds as bad as my old but my old was the lsow one and tech support was a joke as well but then again if it had been any good I may have never met you guys lol.
THe isp I have has been laying Fiberoptic lines and when they get here speed is supposed to increase dramatically
yeah once you get a optic line you speed should match its best speed that your paying for,
trouble with copper is the longer the wire the more crap the signal , if you live far away from your exchange your speed drops. if your house was right next door to the exchange optic or copper would not matter.
ouch now I see why Davey hated it
hated it does not come close. ( blood pressure going up )
i would not mind i had freeserve , wanadoo before orange took over never never had a problem orange take control and that was it all down hill from day one.
i was on a dam business line as well and they treated me like crap.
After looking at the reports I can now see why you punch the monitors Dave lol

well davey when you told me that the fiberoptic lines would be better you were right on the money.
My download still isnt as fast as yours but there is a big improvement over my old copper connections especially in the upload department.
here is my new readings

do the test again but do it on a server under 50mile.
you should get a much better rate then.
your upload is better then mine bah !
but my down load still leaves you for dead
the isp i am on now is talking about a 48 meg download speed
can't wait for that to happen as i will be one of the first to switch over to that..
now i have just run out of ports on my router i will be upgrading to a 1 gigabite 16 port router that should help alot

I would do it using a closer site but thats the closest 1although overall there hasnt been a significant difference in speed no matter where I test to in fact I often test using new zeland with less than 2oo k difference in download speed. but i do lose a bit on the upload as you can see
here
