cheers Brad.R
sound like you have run the usb setup wizard but as you are using a lan cable you really did not need to do that,
however the router will still need to be setup to access your isp.
here is the quick start guide for that router.
http://www.siemens.com.tr/i/assets/conte...0guide.pdf

please have a read of that on how to setup your isp settings.

if you can not access the router please make sure that your ethernet card driver is installed and that you can see your ethernet controller in device manager.
also double check in control panel , network connections that your ethernet is enabled.

if you use to access the net by a dail up usb modem you will have to tell IE to use the lan.
to do that click start , control panel , internet options, connections tab, tell IE never dail a connection , click apply and ok.
thanks heaps man
ok still having trouble. so i'll tell you exactly what i want to do.
i have had the 6520 set up for a long time and use it as a modem daily but i have recently bought a new laptop with a wireless n network card so what i what to do is use my laptop wirelessly with the modem/router is this possible??
the router supports wireless B, G only however the wireless N card should still access it as its backwards compatable.

that all sounds good and well but i had problems with a wireless N card and G router myself not so long ago.

i think what you should try and do is this, reset the router back to its default settings, to clear any wifi card logs,
then go in to its settings and check the Wireless Encryption Settings, WPA-PSK with the Encryption TKIP is the best the router will do

set the router to use that then change the SSID name and WPA Pre-Shared Key to something you will remember
save those settings and start up your laptop.
look for that SSID name in the wifi list.
select connect then add your password.
it should access the router.

little tip when setting a WPA Pre-Shared Key add thinks like @ $ ! in to the key its harder to brake if you have things like that in the key.
ok thanks agian man
I use something like the key generator at the following link. I also make sure I use the full 63 charactors to try and make it as difficult to hack as possible. http://www.yellowpipe.com/yis/tools/WPA_...erator.php

Copy the key and paste it into Notepad as it is impossible to try and type the blasted thing in, especially twice. The number can be kept in a text file on a special USB key so if you lose the connection and it asks for the key again all you need to do is insert the USB key and Copy n Paste the generated number into the appropriate location.

my router's default gateway is not opening..!
how to configure it.

Please help.!what should i do?
if your running the speedstream you do the following to enter the menu.

in IE or any browser type 192.168.254.254
Default admin username: admin
Default admin password: admin

if your router is not getting a default gateway from your isp please check you have entered the isp settings correctly.

if all is correct you will have to phone your isp to find out why you can not get a default gateway from them.

this routers quick start manual can be downloaded from here.
