Hi,
I have a HP dv2550se laptop with Vista installed. I really want to install XP on it too. (I know that generally XP should go on first and then Vista but I don't have any Vista disk and I think I can get Vista to boot after installing XP with Vista Boot Pro or something similar). The laptop has an SATA drive which I've never had before so my XP install cd doesn't work. I think I can include the drivers for it on a custom install cd though... Is this true? If so, can anyone help me find the right drivers? Here, from the Vista device manager, are the device names I think are relevant:
Under Disk drives:
ST9160821AS (I think that's Seagate)
Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers:
Intel 82801 HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller
Intel ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controller 2850
Under Storage controllers:
Microsoft iSCSI Initiator
Please let me know if I can provide any more useful information.
Thanks for your help!
