please download and install direct x 9 before you load any of these drivers.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx

as long as your using your onboard vga the drivers listed here will get that board up and running

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=491

any problems post back.

click start , search .

search for direct x
in teh c drive you will find the info there.

now if i remember xp came shipped with direct x 8 when it was new , i think service pack 1 upped that to 8.1

ok going to cheat a little here.

i am going to go back a few years for you.

download and install this intel inf file from guru3d
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=720

that will tell xp all about your chipset.

then download the Intel 845/865 G/GL/GE/GV VGA Drivers from msi.

those drivers are dated 2004 about the same age as those motherboard drivers.

with luck the two will work and you will get your display working.

its important that you load the intel inf file first , restart the pc when asked.
then install the vga drivers.

your welcome.

i will give you another tip for that windows xp.

switch on auto update from control panel set it to what ever time you are on the pc the most.

its will download and install a few updates that you can not access direct from windows update page now. Grin
