vista drivers for V-Gear Pocket DTV
#1
Has anyone found drivers for vista that will enable the pocket DTV to work. I have been told V-gear went bust and drivers will not be made for vista.

V-gear only lists web cams now probably sold the tuner business off

however try this http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/237885...nload.html

there are several versions of the diver here http://www.opendrivers.com/company/2161/...nload.html

have a look and see remember install the driver before plugging the device in

If that dosent work we will have to look at the chipset

can you please let us know what is the main chipset used on that card.
vista does havea mountain of problems with these old cards but we can check chip numbers and see if anything has been foun dout or even if a work round has been done.

Chipset on card? The product is an external box and came with a CD that loads the programme and drivers. The drivers are good for XP but not for Vista. Is what you want in the CD? If so how do I locate the data?

the chipset is on the main control board in that box.
it will mean removing the ex-box covers to find it.

if you have the xp install disk you might get away with using the compatibility wizard built in to vista.
there is a 50/50% chance that will work.
please read this on how to find and use that wizard.

I took some pix of the front and back of the board. I have no idea what I am looking for. How do I get the pix to you?

n the underside of that board i can see three black chips.
i can't see what the wrighting is but please note down all makes and numbers on the biggest of the three.

that looks like the main chipset.
also on the tuner side i can see a lable with en ???
can you please list that lable as well as i can't make it out that well from the picture.

i will then search the chipset and tuner numbers and see what i can find for you.

right i have been searching this for just over two hours now.
it does not look good in getting this card to run with vista.
its a panasonic tuner based card.
panasonic no longer list the main part number and everthing i have checked up on has come back a dead end.
even linux is having problems with that tuner number so i would tend to think vista is just not going to run it.
