when doing a downgrade i am sorry to say there is no foolproof way to get it working.
its time and effort and trail and error all the way till you find something that works.

read those topics and download all the drivers listed.
back up your windows vista.
then try the downgrade in this order.

windows xp pro with sp2 not sp3

install
chipset driver
direct x ( if possible )
microsoft UAA
conexant or realtek sound card what ever one your laptop has ( will be listed in your vista device manager )

I have tried all of the chipsets you, hp, nvidia, and everywhere else i thought i could find the drivers for the hp dv9925nr xp. I have reloaded the machine 3 times, and i am still where i have begun. I am at a loss for what to do next, i have even read all of the documentation you have for it, any extra help would be greatly apperciated.. Thank You, Brad

what is going wrong when you try and install the driver ?

what version of windows xp are you trying to load ?

reason being these drivers are for windows xp sp2
you really need sp2 in order to get things running.
