everest has listed your onboard video as SiS 315 Integrated

now you can download the drivers for that here.
http://www.sis.com/download/

choose windows xp
gpu graphics driver
sis315 series gpu

Hi Dave!
No luck so far!
Downloaded the sis 315 driver but when installing error message appears!
"Hardware setup problem
This device could not start. Code 10"

What is this??
I had a problem with my laptop and had to re-install windows XP, now
I can't manage to set my monitor for better resolution than 800x600, in the video options it says that it is a standart monitor (cant set it up other than windows standart setup, can't even open the monitor's properties tab!!).

Please help! What can I do??

Anti-virus software and firewall were both disabled when doing this

Hi again! And Help once again!!

Tryed to install directly from the downloaded zip file after extracting but no luck either.
Error message " Setup program could not find adequate driver and will be finished"

I know I'm not even close to be an informatic genius, but I used to be able to sort these kind of things...
HELP PLEASE!

Thanks!

ok maybe everest got the video wrong , there are two possible drivers.
the other driver to try would be the one thats in the sis 650 chipset.

go back to sis site.
http://www.sis.com/download/

this time choose.
windows xp
igp graphics driver
sis 650

you really should make sure you download direct x 9 as well just in case these drivers need that to finish the install, i would install direct x 9 first then carry on to sis drivers.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
now are you 100% sure your computer is using the onboard video ? sometimes you will get that error code if you have a agp card plugged in the board but the bios is still seeing the onboard video.

now with your laptop again your missing the gfx driver.
unlike a desktop you can't just use a standard driver, you must go to the people that made that laptop ie: compaq and download the correct driver for your model number

Thanks Dave!

I'm portuguese and bought the computer in Lisbon, but I'm currently living in Brasil... it wont be easy to contact the store where i bought it.

It's a TRIUDUS (not really a known brand) Model n? N35BS1... does this ring a bell to you???

Thanks for your trouble!

I'm downloading it right now. Let?s see if it works.
I am not completely sure if it's using the onboard video but i think so.
Let?s hope so, because I'm becoming blind with this monitor setup!!
