Wink
Hi, Sorry for more of the same, lol. I have searched the forum and downloaded/run the vimicro detector [and tried a few drivers] =it's not a vimicro chip. The driver disc was badly scratched. I have contacted the seller, but do not hold much hope. :)

In the end I took the back off The chip says

cnltf a380
b65492
07/10

Aida reports it as a usb 2.0 cam 1b17 6111

on the bottom screw hole there is a sticker with oe st. and aseries of qc numbers, whcih this is marked as 4

This is all the info i have, so grateful for any help. Thanks.

Well, i tried those web links eventually, getting to a download for a Likely camera, lol. BTW, this is after trying around half a dozen various, 6 led drivers from Davey including the cnltf ones.

Guess what on the main websites, no driver downloads in intelligible English or European language, as you said,so I could not DL, however I also found this

"PCI Vendor 0x11B7 (11b7) is "ShenZhen E-Loam Technology Co.,Ltd", who trade as "E-LOAM". They have an English-language web-site (http://en.eloam.cn/).

They have a large range of cameras with product IDs around 0x6111 (6111).

The one you have appears to be in the A0380 series, and is known as the "USB2.0 PC Camera".

The chip-set and/or camera is, I think, manufactured by CNLTF (http://www.cnltf.com/), possibly translated poorly as "Guangzhou blue sky HSBC Electronic Co., Ltd".

Possibly this information may get you closer to finding out if there is any driver that will support the chipset.

Update: Just seen your photo... that'll be the E-LOAM 6642 (http://en.eloam.cn/product_detail.asp?pid=455)

...."

here http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-910850.html
That is 99% certain the camera,in case some other poor unfortunate has one, lol, but, guess which is the only one of the driver downloads that does not work YEP,lol, some days "If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all" , as the song goes.

Thanks Davey for the help so far, maybe i will just hang out and see if some kind soul can post a driver off a cd, or if eloam resolve their issue.

BTW I have not posted the camera[sorry] it is this thing , which i cannot recommend, now.

ok you really do not want to know how long it has taken me to translate all those jap sites to find what i think is the correct driver.

i found it here.
http://www.drvsky.com/driver/CNLTF_A380.htm

now just to be on the safe side i have downloaded this driver unpacked it and scanned it for any nasty bits , virus, spyware e.t.c

all is clean and i can see the set up files do say A380 so i hope this is the correct driver.
now to stop the dam bots linking to this i have uploaded it to my file site and you can find the driver listed here.
please unpack the driver fully with winzip.
i think it may also be in Chinese but not much more i can find on this cam really.

Thankyou so much, Davey, sorry i did not read this before, you are most helpful. The guy did send me a link to the driver in the end and i feel ashamed that I had not seen your hard work here- thankyou again, you are a gentleman.

Here is what he sent me in case any of your members have trouble with this cam in future. For the record, I had to turn virus scanner off and firewall and do three installs,LOL.

Here is what he said.

"plz download this driver and try.
http://www.dreammacys.com/download/1200.exe [that;s the Win9x/XP one]
if vista, plz change to 32 bit.
http://www.dreammacys.com/download/1200vista.rar
thank you!"

If you would like I can send you the driver file direct for other members use ,sorry for not seeing your hard work and it is appreciated, Thankyou again.

you have nothing to be ashamed about.

what i have done is download both your links and put them together in one zipfile.
i am going to add it to my downloads in the above link.
if i have two working drivers for the same cam its good for the site plus your always have a backup in case those links go dead over time.

shutting down a firewall and antivirus is normal for installing something that needs access to a port.
if you don't the install can get blocked and you end up looking at a black screen when you should be looking at yourself.

Ok thanks Davey,

Yes, i hadn't thought of the ports issue!
Anyway , hopefully those drivers will be of use to somebody else too.

Cheers.

NEVERMIND: I found that my camera is the CNLTF LT-168G and found the driver on this site. Thanks so much for your help!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I made the mistake of buying one of these webcams before checking around the web and now am stuck searching for a driver. When examining the chip it starts with a C and ends with an F (the middle is covered and I couldn't get it off).

The product is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380077197683

I downloaded and extracted the files in this threat, but Vista says it still cannot find the driver. Running the install files produced errors both times.

Any suggestions?
