Installing graphics help

I just recently reformatted my laptop.
I have updated/installed all the other drivers and they are working except for the graphics controller and graphics controller (VGA), they still have the yellow ? after them.

Whenever I try to install my graphics driver it doesn't work and says :
The INF file does not contain information for this system's hardware. Setup will now exit.

I googled Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 inf file, clicked on the top link, downloaded it and ran it and it said

OS type not included in this install media.

My laptop model is Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook.

I don't know the next step, please help.
what windows are you running ?
windows xp
ok just checked with Hp about that laptop i can see in the list of downloads that they have not listed the main chipset drivers for the intel 855.

this is what you will need to do.

go in to add remove programs and remove the intel Extreme Graphics 2 driver from the system then restart the laptop.

go online and download the lastest version of direct x

restart once that is installed.

now click this link download and install the intel INF chipset drivers and install them. XP Professional*&lang=eng

restart once more

now install the most up to date driver for that video card which can be found here. XP Professional*&lang=eng
Thank you very much, it's working.
