hope to hear from u soon.
thats a little hard to find in the back pages of fujitsu, but that borad is used in the scenic W range of desktops.
its running a intel chipset so if you have not done so already please download and install this main chipset INF file and installed it first.

once thats installed you can move on to your sound which is a ADI ( soundmax )
fujitsu no longer allow a direct downloadable click to the drivers so what i done was download it for you and upload it
to my file site.
please download the file from here

please fully unpack that zip file before you use it.
when installing the soundmax it says that the 'operating system is not supported by this software'. is there any thg that i can do.
what windows are you running ?
windows vista home prem
and that maybe the problem.
i just double checked my answer and that is the correct driver for that model.
AD1986 AC´97 (Onboard on D1837, on D1837-A21)

so i am sure that is correct.

i know some early adi chips had problems with vista they just refused point blank to work.
what you can try is the compatibility wizard built in to vista.

how to find and use that wizard can be found here.

might also be worth your while as vista has been out for a while is to try the standard update driver while online.

what you need to do is go online and leave the computer online.
go in to device manager, right click on the problem sound and select update driver.
let windows do its seach and when asked let it search windows update at the same time.

if that all fails to get your sound running i will take a look at microsoft database for you in the morning ( its abit late here )
and see if microsoft have any drivers for vista and that ADI chipset.

let me know how you get on and i will take a look first thing in the morning for you.
dave i have a good news for u. i use the link u gave me and read it over and over again and i try the vista compatibility with xp/p2 and mine sound is back. thank u very much
thank u
God blessed u
glad that worked for you.

I was just checking with microsoft and they only list one driver for ADI
the main problem is they don't list what of the ADI range its for.

so just in case other members run it to problems with ADI + vista i will upload it to this post.

please note microsoft do not list what ADI soundmax this driver is for.
its a last chance sort of thing at getting your soundmax to work under vista,
please try the compatibility wizard with your correct driver before you try this one.

if the compatibility wizard works there is no need to try this driver.
