Edimax router resets automatically
#1
Hello I am new here!..
So I have recently bought a modem which has Wi-Fi in it..
I use every holidays! When I bought the modem, I set the modem correctly by putting its CD in my PC & following it..
But the last week when I opened the internet, the internet was telling that DNS server failed to look-up.. or something like that in my Google Chrome.
So I put the disk in my PC..
And again I set the modem correctly by following CD's instructions..
Then the internet started to work again..
Now today also when I opened the internet the same manner it shows a message.. I set the modem again..
So my question is why is this happening ??
And yea also the Wi-Fi's password setting has been also changing from WPA to Open..
Is there a way to set this modem correctly.. without being setting the modem everytime..???!!

my modem's configs are as follows
PPPoPe/PPPoPa
EDIMAX Wireless router Model: AR-7167WnA
Wifi Enabled

Please help me ASAP!!
Thank You!!

if its set to auto DNS themn it will auto detect your isp DNS servers.
now thats not aways such a good thing as some isp have over loaded DNS servers and it can slow down your
over all net speed.

download the manual for that router here.

have a read of it and then pre set it to one of the free open public DNS servers and it should stop that problem.
