x64 driver for HL-340 usb > serial device

I installed the HL-340 adapter on Win 7 64-bit last night.

Download this file (CH341SER.ZIP) http://wch.cn/download/list.asp?id=5
Don't use the CH341SER.EXE file or the INSTALL folder!

Unzip it. Make note of where you put it (of course).
Plug in the HL-340 adapter.
When it asks for a driver, point it to the CH341SER\DRIVER folder that you unzipped.
Wait a minute or two, it will load.

I used this adapter to connect to a Cisco Router via HyperTerminal (hacked from XP SP3) and it worked perfectly!

Now, if only I could get Procom to install in 64-bit...

it really depends on the cross over chip inside your cable.
some are so old that they don't work on a 64bit system

what if I down grade my system to 32 bit?...I'm using this cable to make communicate between my Laptop (USB) to a Circuit (COMP) which has 89c51 MicroController

please post the device id string of the cable i will then check to see what chipset is inside.

the very early cables as sold on ebay don't even work with vista but it really does depend on what cross over chip is inisde your cable.

I'm so sorry, I cant find any thing like serial number or id string....there's just a name "HL USB-RS232" on the case, look like this one:

plug the cable in then go in to device manager to find its device id string.

I found something:

ok that device id string leads me to a wch.cn made cable.
this is the most up to date driver on their site.

does say its for windows 7 64bit as well.

It said " Driver install success" but still got problem in device manager "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"...but thanks anyway:)...
